My personal experience of government IT has been awful. In the last week I’ve seen a policy for systematic copyright infringement and a censoring of employees internet access like they’re children. They don’t know the law and they don’t trust their own employees.
“I thought copyright couldn’t be applied to numerical data?”
Depends what the data is, don’t think you can copyright pie, but an mp3 of a song is a single number, and certainly copyrighted.
