Mae Gogledd Corea mor bell i ffwrdd yn ddaearyddol ac yn ddiwylliannol ac mae’n hawdd i wneud j\u00f4cs amdano fe, yn enwedig am Kim Jong-un. Dw i wedi gwneud rhai fy hun.<\/p>\n

Dw i ddim yn meddwl bod j\u00f4cs am bethau o bwys fel y cyfryw yn anaddas fel dull cyfathrebu o reidrwydd. Ond dw i’n credu bod r\u00f4l Gogledd Corea fel dim byd mwy na ffynhonnell o adloniant pur mewn rhai o’r cyfryngau prif ffrwd yn broblem difrifol.<\/p>\n

Bob tro dw i’n darllen erthygl digri am Kim Jong-un – ac mae eithaf tipyn ohonynt – dw i’n cael y teimlad yn gynyddol bod y stori yn cymryd lle adroddiad difrifol. Heno o’n i’n meddwl ‘Rhyw ddydd yn y dyfodol efallai bydd gwledydd y byd yn cael clywed y manylion erchyll am Ogledd Corea…’. Meddyliais i am Idi Amin yn Uganda yn y 1970au<\/a>:<\/p>\n

[…] Throughout his disastrous reign, he encouraged the West to cultivate a dangerous ambivalence towards him. His genial grin, penchant for grandiose self-publicity and ludicrous public statements on international affairs led to his adoption as a comic figure. He was easily parodied, and was granted his own fictional weekly commentary in Punch.<\/p>\n

However, this fascination, verging on affection, for the grotesqueness of the individual occluded the singular plight of his nation. As many as half a million Ugandans died under his regime, in well-documented ways ranging from mass executions to enforced self-cannibalism.[…]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ar \u00f4l ychydig bach o ymchwil mae’n ymddangos bod y Cenhedloedd Unedig wedi cyhoeddi adroddiad\u00a0ym mis Chwefror eleni – am ddegawdau o orthrwm yn\u00a0Ogledd Corea<\/a>. Felly mewn gwirionedd mae’r dydd wedi<\/em> dod pan mae cyfle i ddysgu am gymdeithas yn Ogledd Corea ond fydd unrhyw un i wrando? Dylai’r adroddiad a’r llwybr hyd at dribiwnlys cael y blaenoriaeth yn y newyddion. Dyma crynodeb o’r adroddiad i chi, dim ond rhagflas bach:<\/p>\n

[…] The commission’s report finds that crimes against humanity were committed in North Korea over a multi-decade period “pursuant to policies established at the highest level of the State,” and included “extermination, murder, enslavement, torture, imprisonment, rape, forced abortions and other sexual violence, persecution on political, religious, racial and gender grounds, forcible transfer of persons, enforced disappearance of persons and the inhumane act of knowingly causing prolonged starvation.” The report notes in particular “a systematic and widespread attack against all populations that are considered to pose a threat to the political system and leadership.” […]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
